Clois is one of those special souls that you just want to be around because she gives such joy and beauty to the world around her. Last night's photo session was no exception. Our plan was to meet at a gorgeous spot in Virginia Beach, on the west side, where there's an enclosed beach, grassy hills, and trees filled with Spanish moss, about an hour before sunset, so that we could get some pretty sunset shots for Clois' 30th birthday.
As is often the case when you're a hard-working mom like Clois, trying to get 100 things done between working hours, we didn't start right on time. In fact the sun had just about set when I took the first photo. In addition, the weather was not cooperating. We had a nice clear sky with some big puffy clouds for sunset, but it was SO cold. 45 degrees on the water, with wind blowing maybe 30 miles per hour.
I had my hat, gloves, scarf, boots, and down coat on, and I was cold. Clois came in her beautiful yellow sundress and sandles, with her super cute "30" balloons, and a sunny attitude to match! She kept saying she likes the cold, and there's no beauty without pain, all the while laughing. In spite of the weather, and balloons in the wind that wouldn't cooperate, she kept her beautiful smile and happy mood, and made the best of the circumstances. In a short time, we got some fantastic photos that show Clois' beauty shining from the inside out. I hope you'll join me in wishing Clois a very happy 30th birthday!
